I was commissioned by Focus Publishing, Sydney, to research and author book chapters on Australian achievements, including in the following internationally distributed titles:
I was commissioned from across the globe by the Swedish company Nord-Lock to write for its specialist magazine Bolted (Page 9). Other specialist publications and commissions have included features for Engineers Australia, Engineering World, and Australian Bookseller & Publisher, contributing articles on science, technology, the environment and informative articles on retailing and book publishing, among them: engineering in Hong Kong, science behind the scenes in the movies, developments in the United States space and missile defence program, and plans for a space base in Queensland.
My work included articles on alternative energy being planned and produced in Queensland, satellites and their potential pollution impact, dyslexia, computer hacking, nanotechnology, “Big Science” in Switzerland and Chile, land degradation in central Queensland, Australian forestry, vegetation in a major Australian national park, geology of north Queensland, Idalia National Park, central Queensland, impact of forest clearing in Queensland on global warming (effectively anticipating the current crisis), endangered species, and an on-the-spot exclusive report and pictures of the first live exports of koalas to Kagoshima Zoo in Japan (1987).
